the return of MURNI

This girl was missing from my sewing room for many seasons ................... She had just came home from visiting her in laws in Sabah and now is expecting her first baby. Doesn't she look familiar?

If I mentioned MURNIWATI, does it ring a bell.........? She was an x-stuff of Epal and had travelled around Semenanjung to all Epal centres...... She was very famous then.... winning few awards for her creativity and produced some very neat works and a good tutor there. She retires now and a full time housewife.

All was not planned, and she came barging to the house out of the blue..... and I was thrilled. She brought along a bundle of scraps ...................all lovely and yummy designs.

... and I just knew what to do with them all.................... :D

XS-January #2- I was DEFEATED

The pic says all....... I was racing with time and was defeated by my own tight schedule....... I will continue this to completion.

This chart shows a lot of halves and quarters and need lots of concentrations and frankly I strained my eyes..... but I love every bit of its developments and growth. I am still finding times to get to it, soon...... but now I have reluctantly and gently shoved it aside to give way to others in hand that needs my full attentions :)

ALISHA's own

No earthly joys could bring more pleasure,
Than a little child to love and treasure.

the saying goes and she is the jewel of her parents' eyes and soul......... ALISHA

I have not met this little baby, but I know she deserves this little gift .... made with sincerity and love from me. Hope we will get to know her thro' her mother..... soon.

A panelled design and simple stippling quilted around the sashing, with Alisha's name.

You just bloom and grow up Alisha and be a good Muslimah ....... Aaminn!

Recycled products...

I was venturing away for 3 days to our yearly activities at WI HQ at PJ. This year around we have to produce something from recycled old newspaper to be weaved to form variety of baskets or anything related as our next source of fun raising.

Puan Aishah and me, busy rolling cut papers to make the main material to weave the basket.

Participants came from all states from Semenanjung except from Perlis, which did not turned up for certain reasons.

Few example of products from the same materials.

These are mine, produced in one day hard labour :)

I am fiddling some times to convey all the knowledge I have learnt here to all my buddies in Kedah. InsyaAllah.

I’ve to rush thing in my sewing corner a bit because of some deadline, which means I’ve been sewing, piecing, stitching past my bedtime, which inevitably leads to ................ urgh!

I can do it, I must do it, I will do it, I will work hard now ...............!!!

Emb. PILLOWcases

For the past two days my hands were full with these pillow cases. A simple embroidery adorned on one side with a white 2 inches strip to tone down the peachy-pink fabric colour of
Puan Haton's choice. All one dozen for her. But I added up two whites with matching strips to compromise the other set.

And the extra one piece is for me to keep..... :D

SAMPLER BOM - have yet to receive

It was over due............... and I am not sure what with the rest of us, participants ....... have they or have they not received full blocks yet, cos not all are making entry on their blog respectively ......as I understood, due to other commitments and major attention needed elsewhere.

And what I display here are 10 blocks received from 10 BOM participants. I am patiently waiting 2 more blocks from HANI and FAWA............. to fill up the empty/white space and get all done with soon. My hope that I am not waiting in vain finally.....

We shall see, and I am sure they are a good game-keeper, just that we should wait, a while longer!

Cut.... cutting!

Hubby and me, had a fabulous time to begin the new year with our kids at BK3. Our few days stay was spent with lots of food and we had great time indoor for it rained almost everyday at the Klang Valley.

There, I would not miss for the world to do some shopping around... and bought few items for my sewing corner. One of those is this apple-green cutting mat from Clover. My dream of having a bigger mat was fulfilled (even though I was looking for a white) and this hopefully could boost my sewing capacity for the whole year......!

XS - January

I have to keep my own promises to complete at least a project for x-stitch per month. And here is the starting off of a beautiful, quilt related xs design. A very kind hearted blogger friend gave them to me few months back, thanks dear.

Well, I think it is best to invite ALL to join me here........ anyone, especially SHIMA ........

Finally....It was done!

I did the piecing way back in 2009,
a BOM project with CALENDER QUILT CHALLENGE '09 with many team members organized by Rachel Griffith
I managed to complete this few hours before the end of 2010. Though it took almost a year to complete, I was overwhelmed with the final results and such a relief. The backing was a simple lantern prints and this quilt measures 88 x 68 inches.

Just to wish everyone here, a Happy New Year - 2011!!!

Xstitch by machine

Back here from my hometown last Monday with heavy head and a weak body and soul ...... So much to think and do and I am really exhausted ........ As much as I try to slow down the ticking of time, I have found that it is to no avail........... and I am running with it now!

Before the journey proceeds for the 'Aidul Adha, I managed to embroider these to replace/add few more pillow cases before the year end holiday starts which I expected more relatives to drop by then.

Crib Bedding Sets.

Bedding sets for a dear blogger friend, somewhere in Penang.............. :)

Hubby was left...... alone!

Oh, some vengeance!.....No, just have lots of errands to settle in town... and Hubby was left alone at home. Not to worry coz he would not realized I was missing until he gets hungry........ :) He is so engross with his woodworks and cleaning up his fishing gears and gadgets!

Ok, so I went to the post office for some delivery. Then, to the SSM (CCM/RoC) for renewal. Looking for bits and pieces for my sewing things and fabrics for the tablecloth. Did all the running here and there, in a time crunch and came home with these.

The fabrics for table cloth are all white cotton..... eliminated from the view :)

Three heavy cotton, few meters of printed cottons and a lovely Japanese silk, for my baju raya 'Aidul Adha.

There too, an additional of my craft/sewing books..... a Taiwan printed magz from PBS.
