All things moved......

Left alone means I do not need to cook for any meals, means Hubby was away for fishing!

And I went busy shifting and rearranging my sewing corner again. My secret..... I arrange the sewing room every two or three months once ...... Am I weird?

These pics below are just for my sewing diary and to keep track of my daily activities....... :)

A little office where I am typing now.... with such comfy armchair who could resist sitting for hours, surfing and browsing...... me especially!! And my sewing table with MekTam now.

The messy part of my corner... the working and cutting table. Last month I bought the foldable table from Giant...it is kind of handy and becomes 2' x 2' when folded up portable enough for my little transport. I transformed the back of the old cupboard and my old wardrobe for my design wall...... but found out that it is not sufficient to cater even for a single quilt top..... will see some other solutions.

This is how Hubby will view me, I guess....... when he is not busy with his Byond...... :D

An open storage area where I keep all the necessary quilting items ..... messy :)

This trolley with castors is really handy to store all the little sewing items.

Some collections of craft books and magazines

Now....... my most favorite spot....... supplied by my kids, they just knew their mama's taste.
I love chocolates and sweets :D

HexyDiamond is almost there..!

Almost a week I was dealing with this diamonds and the top was done. It measures approximately around 82" square. The frame was sewn and will look for a suitable backing fabric and quilt it and get it completed.
I attached the frame using this MekTam. She has been hibernating for quite sometimes now...and I will not let her rest anymore.
Day and night she will be drooling with me....... She is a real beauty!

Pincushions Craze hit back....

I was in town today and try to get hold of our Dear Friend, Puan Balkhis for lunch date but to no avail..... kind of miss her lately.

Was wondering around on my own (as always) after delivering few mails at the post office, then proceeded to town to just window shop.....! But I did not just glance trough the windows but awkwardly stumbled into the glass door to shop for fabrics... and brought home few metres of lovely fabrics from KAMDAR (on sales now) and some trimmings and colourful buttons for my latest craze........... hexagon pincushions!!!!

Started this for few days now but short of buttons to complete. More and more triangles are forming from fabric stash as I cut others for on going quilt project .... And now I have plenty of pincushions for my visitors and as door gift from my sewing corner ..... :)

WIP

I was in BK3 for almost a week with Hubby and had great times with my children and getting to know our SonIL, Afif, the quiet and shy type, more thorough then.. :) They, my kids, trailed me along in my craze of shopping around for few days.......... thanks all dear.

Before I left my sewing corner I got hold of few UFOs. There are few that attract my attention.

Now, this has become my next to do list since these pieces was there and existed as long as I can remember. Some remnants from a friend's king size quilt.

Wordless....

Kesidang, Kerak Nasi or Bread Flowers, all are the same, though they are tiny,
they have a sweet fragrance that mesmerises.

The long lasting scent is very therapeutic and helps to relieve stress and act as natural perfume which lingers on for few days......

The above, Hubby cut few stalks and placed it on my work desk. Thanks DIA......

WIP - Embroidery

This Janome Memory Craft, Mek, will be my companion for the whole of this week.
She will sings melodiously and embroidering 42 pieces of pillowcases and 15 pieces of tablecloth......while I do my other sewing.

Come on Mek......... we work together hand in hand....... and finish up by this week!

Lost and REPLACED

My sadness and frustration after losing some hexy-flowers at my premise was lifted when these arrived yesterday. None other than Zura herself send another set of ten to replace the lost. How kind and considerate of her.............:)

Thanks Zura, for all these ........... Will place your flowers in my heart till the end.

See, the lovely and striking yellow surrounded by the black polka dots... just my fave!!!

GAINED....

After all the suicidal but with satisfactions achieved in the process of doing house chores, I often return to my sewing corner and try to do something small and fast by means of subsiding my agony.

Lately I get tired and fatigued often .... Just thinking of adjusting and reschedule my routine!

So I did this, a pouch ...... a new home to my fave sunglasses.

Miles of Precut Binder

These I received from Murniwati sometimes ago together with lots more treasures that she feels she had grown unfond and tired of.....How lucky I am to received them all. Thanks Murni.

Will include the above 1.5" precut binder to all many small projects that matches and needs red binding. Well, for any large size quilt...... I think it is not suitable 'cos it ends up about quarter of an inch finished.......Very tiny!!!!

SAL - A vase with flowers-COMPLETED

Just had to get it done and I did it on the same fabric background........

After all thought I used the reverse/wrong side of the same fabric ...... I think I did soften the look, didn't I? I appreciate all dearest blogger friends who gave me advices and responded. Thanks, girls.

As for the whole SAL, I machine quilt around all applique. The backing is just plain white and finished with a ready cut binder. Another pic was the back after machine appliqued before sandwiching. Mine turns out to be a wall hanging, hanged proudly on one wall of my sewing corner.

Well, Sue dear, I have done mine :)........ Thanks for the effort you have showered over the game.

An early bird, makes a bag!

A Noriko Handbag from Lazy Girl Design

I have kept this printable design for almost a year. Today, started early and I now managed to finish it. It was quite an easy bag to make.

Used an upholstery fabric and a flannel for the lining and a 'not very suitable button'.... but I was so excited to get it done .........I will get a replacement for the closure soon :)

Added up an inner pocket too.

Thanks, Lazy Girl Design..... a lovely bag!

SAL - A vase with flowers-applique-updated

My first update on the SAL with Sue,

All cut and ready to be appliqued on the base fabric...... Up to this stage, I am quite sceptical about the busy background. Just compare when they were placed on white paper (as above) and then onto my grayish base.... Or maybe I have to change to softer base fabric.....

Please, any suggestions.....? :)

Quilted Fabric Basket Swap- completed

A quilted fabric basket, made for a SWAP organized by Michele Foster of Quilting Gallery.

This basket is to be winged up soon to Florida, USA.......
Will mention here, my swapee, when it arrives safely there.

HEXAGON GAME-Zura's

This is a logical sequence of our HexyGame. Came at my post box yesterday..... from one participant from Sabah, Zura. I was overwhelmed with joy for a while but...... when I contacted her she asked if I ever received one batch consist 10 pieces..... NO!

The 20 pieces as above was sent after the one lost on the way to my home....... Today everything was corrected, after all the hustle bustle, and the Post Master came to clarify on my door step, we agree to declare that it was lost on my premise....... hooooo what a deal.... I have to say so to save all the mess......

Zura, thanks a lot for the lovely flowers..... I really appreciate them all.

All seems like a very pleasant dilemma to be in, but frustrating nonetheless.

Pink Baby Bear

I was away for 2 days, across the Malaysian borders, to Hadyai and Songkla in Southern Thailand with few friends for sight seeing...... just after I finished these baby quilts.

One was fully quilted and the other just stitch in the ditch.....

See if I can continue doing the quilting later on.

WIP - baby quilts

In between my busy days preparing for the WI meetings and so forth, for the past two weeks, I was on these two pink beauty occasionally.

WIP- small prayer mat

I have another project for the WI meeting next month. Here it is, a little progress.

I am done with any hand quilting for years now, due to numbness and tingling fingers and pain on my right shoulder (frozen shoulder). But I did try here and found that no consistency in my stitches. Luckily it covers a small area of the whole project though but it needs my nurturing and attention dearly.

These are my fave thimbles. And look closely at the right top gadget, it has duly worn out and dented a bit for years of usage. The one with skin color is an open adjustable thimble which is now my fave (from CP)..... and the other piece I used for the bottom middle finger for protection. The leather 'clover' thimble is quite useful at time, but not for quilting.

Tiny but not TINY

I was away from my sewing nook and just a bit tired and weary for the whole of this week. Yet have to dig my stash to sew something small and cute before I leave the house ........ one or two little 1" hexy per day. I am to do this tiny phone charms to be on sales, donation or as a door gifts plus some other items during the yearly carnival on May in our small town, Alor Setar.

I had posted this here sometimes ago..... had done few for friends and received a good respond and decided to have them a go as fund raising projects. Let it flow smoothly while sewing these...'cos I am doing hundreds of them....... :) InsyaAllah

One day catch.... one month consume

After some persuasion to come back here in Alor Setar, my son, Muhammad Sulhi (Boy) had been home for three weeks......... He just can't resist to go ride his precious bicycle around Klang Valley with his comrades.... but he came home finally!

My two boys (old and young... :)) were getting along very well and they had their adventures for the whole of Boy's stay. Gardening, cleaning, trailing and best of all, he had great time following his Abah, for sea fishing...... They had most memorable time together and the topics about their sea adventure carried on for about a week...... But I did not pay attention to them much........as I was very busy at this time of the year with my own activities......

The fishing trip ended up with lots of catch..... though mostly of medium size. According to my hubby during on board, Boy's thrill was beyond words.... tough at first he got nausea and had to stay put for the first hour.

So, just imagine for the whole of last week we had all our meals with fish and veggies on our table...... Omit other dishes in the pic....... but all was his job in the kitchen, the steamed, the grilled, the deepfry ........ and all spicy with lots of herbs, he simply dashed on the poor fish he caught. But frankly it was lovely and tasted good .... but he can't beat my 'air-asam' as the dip ........lol.....!

He is back now at BK3....... and here at 49ers, both Abah and Mama have to continue 'fishing' out the rest of his catch from the fridge.....everyday.....!!!!!!!

H for Heart

I was a little down today............. 'cos of this. If one looks closer, one can see the unfinished crosses............ my machine did not do well and needs caressing for sure.

Need to stitch manually to complete, no big deal, will do it!

The returned....

It was about a year I have left this pouch template untouched. While making one for a friend as usual will make few to filled up my craft wardrobe which is almost empty now....

N for Now

I will be into embroidery now..... slowly but with proficiency!!!

Bought this design few years back along with the embroidery machine. I did this once for Darr's pillowcase but it came out not to my expectations. This is a trial piece and after resizing I am contented and happy with it. Will make a wall hanging when I have embroidered all, from A - Z. InsyaAllah.

Purity of white

Early morning, I started fresh with this for a neighbour, a gift for her friend's wedding ceremony.

On white...... merely few words..... but it was radiantly pure and modest....... will get along with anything splashed on it.
