DR THONG'S OWN

met her when i visited her at her clinic for chekup. from brief chat she mentioned that she had some cut fabrics bought when she was in UK (pursuing her medic then) and brought them back. that was more than 20 years ago. well, here goes her completed quilt. with some additional pillow (just enough material for hers no his (poor husband). all pieced and quilted by machine.

according to her, the stitching was done by her nanny(passed away now -blessed her). mostly done by hand and machine piecing. she insist that i complete them for her with just sandwiching a thin batting (flannel). should see how happy she was when i handed these treasure of hers.

KING HEXAGON QUILT

the first king size using hexagon. all hand-stitched and hand quilted. my own design.
at my little space sewing room i have no spacious wall or floor area to snap to get the whole design. it worth the effort to complete this piece cos it was quite heavy using half an inch fibre batting. and it was not easy to quilt in such a thickness (request from the owner). when finally delivered to her she was so happy and love the colour and simple design... phew!

LILY'S PINK

done few years ago for her birthday. just a simple quilt adapted from previous design of pillows. the heart shapes were machine-patched using blanket stitch. machine quilted in-the-ditch.

YELLOW DUCKLING 1 & 2

this simple quilts was done four times repeatedly upon request. i like the simple design myself. this is simply my own design adapted from a cartoon distinctive character from toddlers book. Unfortunately i can't get the pictures for the other two versions (lucky if can get it from the rightful owner)











This project was even used to a group of FELDA staff (Alor Setar Head Quarters-FELDA Wilayah) in one of their sewing forum and yearly activities. Such a sweet experience to be able to teach and assist such a large group of people loving crafts. This alone produces twenty of those little yellow ducklings in various shapes and styles.

BLACK AND WHITE TOTE #

This is one of the earlier Tote that i made.
It is of wool with cotton lining and hand quilted. Wrapped button closure and braided straps.

FIRST FEW

done by using strip of scraps. pieced and quilted along side. although it was big in size but quite easy to manage, except the hand-stitching done to bind each pieces together. see if i can do some tutorial on that (pray).

a piece done for siti dania to take along to her boarding school life. since i love to do hexagon design (though it is so tedious and time consuming) i managed to complete it before she left her 'nest'.
