SEWING and BEADING COURSES

Last Saturday I was selected to represent our WI (NGO) to take a day course on making a two-layered scarf plus some creative bead-sewing to enhance or giving some added value to dresses particularly... This was really an invaluable courses that I would not miss for the world.... Have to convey this beautiful craft to my group later, on our monthly activities....

Below were some of the 40 participants all came around Kota Setar.

During the drafting of templates and sewing......

The completed scarf and some beautiful creations to otherwise a plain dresses.... I love every minute of the course..... and I met few friends who were doing quilting and patchworks too ......

Since came back to stay here in Alor Setar, I have not met any personal whose interest are somewhat like mine... will have a group of quilting enthusiast later, I hope :)

DECOUPAGE

Apart from sewing, lately I plunged myself into this decoupage world.

Frankly I had a great time doing these, firstly because I want to get the feel of doing something new and secondly I was appointed to explore more on this and generate some fund for the Institution.

Though at first had no intention of making an entry of these..... but I think some CREDITS should be given to AFFEEN DECOUPAGE for giving full support and good tutorials. Thanks Affeen, without your help I think I could not produced anything like these.

Just wondering if should I venture more into this or..................

NO
, I think I am still madly in LOVE with SEWING and will do lots and lots of QUILTING!!!!!!

MISSING IN ACTION

Totally exhausted for the past one week for some yearly events which involved our WI (Women Institution) , other NGOs and the governments sectors which took place at the Stadium Darul Aman from July 31st. - August 1st 2009.

Made some crafts projects just to give colours to our other products and to generate some fund for our Institution. My little contributions were just so minute compared to others. But so proud that at least I took part in this most soughtful event which involved His Royal Highness and the Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah -

'Sultanah Bahiyah Foundation is a charitable organisation which takes its name after its founder and first royal patron, Almarhumah Tuanku Bahiyah Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Incorporated as a foundation on 20th August 1996, the Yayasan is managed by a Board of Trustees and the present Chairman is YTM Dato' Seri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Haji Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.'

Some pics during the events.

Look who came to visit our humble booth. Our 'IRON LADY' Dato' Maznah Hamid. She stayed about half an hour and have a nice chat full of motivated speech and spirited advices to us. She bought most of my items mostly the patchworks products.

Had been busy for few days..... missed my sewing room and mostly I missed my friends here...............

WI CRAFTS

Do I call myself lucky or I have magic fingers..... whatever it is, I have won several categories in our annual meet which was held on Saturday, last week.

Firstly, look what I have done to my sewing table. Tsunami has just arrived!!!!

All the tiny details...... and make full use what ever within reach.

It turns out to be this flower arrangements.

This is a simple sets of tea cosy. Later on I will show another one similar to this.

This was done during the tutorials. As we did not have some of the necessary items to do at home , every thing was done in-si-tu.

Well, this is the result...........
All in three little red envelopes.
This means a lot to me though.

WI CRAFTS ACTIVITIES

Enrolled myself to the Women Institutions (WI), a non-government-organization, since I came back to stay at Alor Setar. A lot have I learned and gained from this society whereby we move mostly for charity and fun raising activities.

The projects that we did last weekend was about crafting namely decoupage, molding and patchworks and occupied the whole day.

Actually we learned the basics of how-tos only. The rest have to be our own creativity and by next month during our annual meet we have to display our crafty works and a small reward will be given to the most creative projects.

Well, ladies start using your magic fingers........!

CRAFTS EVERYWHERE

The whole family attended a wedding at my home town in Ipoh. It was such a grand wedding of my nephew's. But the most interesting things that catches my eyes were the many ideas and formations of craft portrayed in every Malay weddings. Some of them could not missed my eyes ........ and get captured!

Need less to say, conclusively the works of art and craft appears everywhere even in the smallest corner of our own house.....
