A Malaysian quilter, in love with quilting ever and every quilt sewn for family and friends is an act of love to provide comfort, filling a need and giving some blessings. On every stitch....... along goes my prayer and warmth ♥
This is my post to the COME OVER TO MY HOUSE CHALLENGE for block 6 and the pic of my Shelby's Cottage and Dog House.
DiahRothman's Block 6
by DiahRothman (Malaysia)
Again for this block I did a few adjustments especially the door and window levels were aligned to each other. And a soft fabric design was chosen for the kennel just not to highlight it compared to other buildings.
My excitement of waiting for the pincushion swap finally came to an end when this arrived yesterday. I was so exited all over, for this was my first swap and received some great gifts from Vanessa Bodrie of Minnesota.I read her blog and I fell in love with the neighbourhood she and family stay. So country........ a serene life. She is good at quilting and my... her kids too do lots of craft projects! Please do visit her blog!
She wrapped some of the gifts with great black and red fabrics, my favourite colours.
When I unwrapped there goes the beautiful, cute pincushion sewn with care, some beads, ribbons, fabrics and a card..... I love all these.
Thank you Vanessa for all the wonderful and thoughtful gifts. Also my thanks to Sandra to make everything possible and happens......
Last night I was so restless and just can't close my eyes...... But I know I have to wake up early to drive HUBBY to the bus station about 6.30am the next morning! Alone and lonely....................... and I was thinking of my DEAR FATHER and my CHILDREN at BK3.
Just can't DO, DOING NOTHING...... THINK AND DOINGNOTHING, I was at my sewing place....... I was surfing the net and found this some where way down my bookmark, listed about 2 months now.......It was the PINK PENGUIN'S
Switched off @ 3.02am..........................................................and I have THIS
P/S July 3rd 09 - My this blue basket now belongs to Atin to load in her 'kitchen utensils and dining sets'. She got hold of it the moment I gave her and never let it down, not even a sec.!
Look at that bright and sparkling eyes....... I have been hiding this from children that came to my sewing room. It is a not a toy (could make one in bigger version) though. It is meant for a pincushion. Saw the pic from the net somewhere, drafted and designed to make it able to sit upright .... and here it goes!
Last Friday we were off to Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort.
All eight families (30 people) gathered up for three days and we had great times! My three kids came up too.
Hubby and me, always get surrounded by kids.
Further left, Atin had her day dreaming 'cos she loves the water but did not know where to start.... while waiting to get admission. One of her cat's-shy acts....
My son, BOY, getting even darker under the sun!!
Could not get my two girls, they had disappeared earlier.
This was one of the best place where I immersed myself for almost four hours...... water... water... water... had really good splashes!!!!! I really got tanned. I have always love to swim... and had not much time doing so lately.
Get hold few of my little nephews and nieces to do a proper breathing and swimming , and some can't even float........ :p
Managed to catch hold of Hubby's disappearing acts. On his way to stroll around the village behind the resort.
He gets an additional pics of his 'outing' collections. Right now he is working hard to find out what is this furry fruits called............non-edible definitely!
Everybody was having fun and at the end of the day we went our separate ways..... Most of them went back to Kuala Lumpur including my kids.....

Nothing much to say since she is so acquainted to everybody and well known about her whimsical talents. She is really and what she is... Alviana!
The rules: 1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. 2) Pass the award on to 5 other blogs that you have newly discovered.
At this point I am helpless...... totally lost since I assume everyone has a fair chance to get awarded in their own field and capabilities...... everybody deserve this!
They are all wonderful people. My friends near and far, my buddy and my newly befriended blogger, dear brothers and sisters, young and the elderly... and everyone out there, is the recipient!
Have made this yesterday for somebody that is far yet feel quite close to me. I did not know that few days back was her birthday, until I read her blog. So it is the best time to give her something that came out from my own hands... even how simple and plain it was.
I know she will appreciate this.....HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LANI CLAYTON LASKOWSKI may you be showered with many happy returns of the day!
P/S Ar per today June 14th, 09, Lani has received this... a little bundle of joy to her. I am so glad and happy for her.....!
I had to share this with you all girls... Our lovely Diah Rothman, so generously made this beautiful quilt for Hexagons of Hope. Pictures do not do this quilt justice... it is far prettier in real life. It has been lovingly made and quilted with care. I feel so priveleged to pass this on...
Now I know Diah won't want me making a fuss, so I won't... ..except to say "Thankyou" once again for being a lady with such a generous heart.
This quilt has a very interesting history. It's worth a read to see how it came to life... Check out the link here under "hexy finding" for all the info on how this quilt came to be.
P/S Updated Nov 2nd 2009, e-mail from Robyn,
It's been quite a long time since hearing from me. I thought you'd like to know that I received word of your beautiful hexagon quilt being delivered just this past week. Your beautiful quilt went to a lovely lady in the Kinglake area of Victoria, who lost her home and her husband and everything. I know it will bring her great comfort!!
Take care Diah and once again thanks so much for your wonderful generosity.
Dear friend Haslina gave me this piece of stencilled fabric to make into something. Received few months back and it took me awhile to get it done and finally managed to complete this yesterday.
It is a pincushion having 4 inches square. Just stitched a cotton lace around it and have no intention to add anything else because it is just beautiful being itself. I did not even cut it any smaller to give space for the pin or needles not to land on the beautiful stincilled part. Too lovely to get poke!
Thanks Haslina. I will keep this lovely gift from you.... ever!
