HEAD SCARF LESSONS

This student of mine, Puan Balkhis (formally my teacher in CRYSTAL class) is such a determine type of person and always knows what she want. We ran our way to Sungai Petani, nearest Epal Branch, to get her MYLOCK 744D. Came back to Alor Setar the next 3 hours and set our appointment to go a head with one sewing project the next day.

Today, she can't wait for my Quran class to complete and repeatedly gave several calls to confirm. On the dot she came and we started off, head-over-heal task, at least to complete one Tudung (Head Scarf) for her to take home. She bought her kits on line from Sheila of Nice2craft sometimes ago.

There she was, so engrossed in her sewing with her little babies around her. Yes, we finally call-it-a-day before the sun sets.

Oh! Gosh, how tired and exhausted but we accomplished our mission!!!!

Hope you are happy Khis.... and make one each for.... (you have such along list of names) but I know you can do it!

Look how happy she was...... Psssstt she was wearing her new red scarf!!!!

A THOUGHTFUL GIFT

I was surprised upon arriving home, I found this on my sewing table about few days back. Received this beautiful stencilled design on a piece of fabric, really makes my day.

The thoughtful lady is PUAN HASLINA ........residing in Penang... and a crafter too....that is all I know about her. She contacted me several times and we planned to meet but unfortunately something occurred ....... really look forward meeting her.

Thanks again, Haslina. It was an honour receiving the beautiful gift from you...

Have yet to think of what it is gonna be..... maybe a PINCUSHION.... YES!

DARR'S WRIST POUCH

Today I am totally in good mood of doing something small and fast. This is what I have made for my Darling Daughter Darr.

"Sorry, mama a bit busy and kept my promise too long to make this pouch of yours"

From beginning to completion time I took almost three hours. Have the design done quite sometimes ago, just increased the measurement by an inch all around. This is what she requested about few months back. The one made before was a little bit smaller.... wonder what will she put inside.....I will check then!

All yours DARR..... . This awaits you when you come back to 49ERS ...very soon, I hope.

REFURBISHED TREASURE

Hello everybody...... remember my previous post about my findings of the uncomplete hexagons stuff. Here shows what I have done with it.

I have unpicked most of the quilts, since some of them have to be removed due to the fabrics choice and to replace the stained parts. Well, do not have much ideas of how to arrange the flowers yet, since I have to maintain the original layout..... yes!

Need help and advice from everyone here. About anything.... regarding this special piece.

I have the thought, after completing this I want to donate it to the victim of the bush fire in Australia and have read about the Hexagon of Hope and it is the best I can do to help.

Have to pick up all the loose threads and off for ironing .......

CRYSTAL SPREE

Attended this workshop by Puan BALKHIS yesterday and I am sure everyone had a good times at Kolej Komuniti Bandar Darulaman, Jitra, Kedah.

This workshop relates about beading crafts - SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL. The best thing was we had a hands-on classes and a VIP attention from Balkhis personally. The whole day spent was such a memorable ones and a lot of information and we did four designs to take home at the end of the day. Hopefully we could have another advance class in the future. Here are some the pics ...

Cik Gu BALKHIS, hope to see you again, soon. Congratulations Khis!

LOVELY AND CUTE

Really love pincushions.

I have made this quite sometimes but recently came across the original design.

If anyone feels like doing this, it is from ABYQUILT and has made the tutorial for this lovely pincushion. Thanks for sharing, May Britt!

OUT OF THE BLUE

Received a call on Tuesday night from my kids in BK3 while hubby and I were having dinner ........ my heart throbbing fast, felt like bursting and my head was heavy and we had to make a fast move. My son called that KNia (eldest daughter) was having a 'blackout' in her office and was send to PPUM. The next hour I was on my way to KL, of course I did not drive, I took a bus with my niece Najua (so happened that she stayed with me for a week and hubby could not make it since he had a major meeting to attend the next morning). On my way, I was relieved to hear that she was discharged. The result of her CT scan showed no major injury on her forehead and her left eye though the patches of blue-black started to appear. That was it...... and what else we (Najua & me) could do in 5 hours journey.

After the good news that my kids were all back at BK3 I did finally realized that I was in a double-deck bus and sitting right at first-front-row and on the first floor level.... could you imagine that....my vision were so breathtaking that I could fly off the window glass screen..... just giggled on and off with Najua cos it was her first timer too.

In a way thanks to God that I could join my kids again a week later after our reunion at my sister's place in Ipoh.

Then we had a fun time and went shopping the whole 3 solid days with KNia having a one-eyed-Panda-with-sunglasses . Amongst other minor things like ribbons, buttons, wooden pegs, cards and etc, etc...... I found these for myself......

These books and magazines were collected from The Curve's MPH and Borders and Sungai Wang book stand.

These fabrics came from Jalan TAR's Nagoya and the bottom most from IKEA (sorry Tini, I had to buy cos I love yours)

CRAFTS EVERYWHERE

The whole family attended a wedding at my home town in Ipoh. It was such a grand wedding of my nephew's. But the most interesting things that catches my eyes were the many ideas and formations of craft portrayed in every Malay weddings. Some of them could not missed my eyes ........ and get captured!

Need less to say, conclusively the works of art and craft appears everywhere even in the smallest corner of our own house.....
