HOOKED RUG

Normally we trim the selvage edge off our fabric to make any kind of projects. For me I do not cut it across, but gradually cut about half and inch away from the selvage edge and keep it there until I finish or almost finish the whole cloth and keep the strips aside. Have collected quite a lot of those and constantly hook those strips to make a piece of rug. A long tiny strips could also be included in this construction of rug by hooking 2 layers together for strengthening.

Well, .... IT TAKES YEARS to have a heap of those strips to make a rug for my sewing room . I have yet to complete mine...... here are just tiny bit of it...... about 30cm by 120cm now...... and I believe it is growing and forming.... lets make one for us, friends.

At least we save our strips of selvage edges and transform it into something beneficial........

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower! I did see your comment... you are more than welcome to use the technique I described... The beautiful part is that each piece will be unique, since there is no pattern to follow!~ Jennie

I love this idea! I use my selvage strips for other things but a rug would make so much sense. Best wishes!
