Hexy Sewing Caddy #2

This is the lovely sewing caddy whipped up from Nykolett precious fabrics........ All tooty-fruity and I dearly like this too.

By any chance, if anyone has made this, Penny has added a Linky at the bottom of her page for you to add pics of your creations! Happy stitching everyone!

Not just REMNANTS

What remnants/stash can transformed into................... lots of goodies!

All these were from the fabrics handed over by Nikolett. With just about less than 2 meters fabrics... minus the backing, all utilized to the brim...... Here goes..........

This is a table runner with matching coasters

A wall-hanging for your kitchen/dining.
A quilted toiletries/makeup bag with matching box pouch.

And the favourite sewing caddy. So, dear Rosni, I am leaving them to you to pick up one for our own.... :)

Labels

I was waiting patiently for this little bundle from kucinpurple to come knocking our front door... and it arrived today. Look at the satin roll............lovely and sharp prints.
And below are my previous labels, using a hot pressed method and they did not last long as expected, after few washings and they peeled off.

So I give them a try, the kucinpurple's product..... see how it will turn up in the long run.......

Diaper Basket and Stacker

This wrapped basket and a diaper stacker are for Puan Wan Noraini, a neighbour, who awaits patiently for her new grandchild due by end of this month.

All materials are provided by the owner..... and I think using a satin is quite lovely to match the bear design cotton/polyester fabric, the soft colour sort of compliment each other.

Scraps to joy!

What a joy, after the exhaustion of travelling and came home with heavy head, I saw this on my sewing table. The parcel was from NYKOLETT and filled with scraps to get 'belasah' according to Rosni, the owner of a well established Curtains & Soft Furnishing shop.......

Whoever needs some scraps, run over to her place and simply choose one heap of stash there. She has plenty to offer to all .... need less to say, just go and visit her!!

Thanks Rosni! Will think about something for us, both... :)

Short times out....

We, the WI group, had some great time visiting few places in Kuala Lumpur ...... and when all of my friends busy with their shopping spree along Jalan TAR..... I took the opportunity to make a disappearing act to grab these....... :D

And in Melaka, visiting historical venue and monuments and the best place is the MELAKA RIVER CRUISE ride at night......and many other lovely places.

I realized that it differs a lot when me moved with crowds of friends (my first time), than with own family .....it was just so very happenings..... if you get what I mean.... :D

Another patch.... placed

Woke up early this morning
with lots of 'bits and pieces' missing
and 'few' people I dearly love were diminishing.

Though not lonely
I have my Dia Hubby.

Still at the corner of my sewing area
is so serene here

And today......
I am celebrating my 54th birthday.

Quietly......... I am wishing
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

LEAVING MY SEWING CORNER.... for fish and grapes!

We, hubby and me had a great weekend last Friday (here in Kedah our weekend falls on Friday and Saturday) with a younger BIL#6 with wife (my kids call them Pak and MakTam). We proceeded early morning and headed to BIL#1's rubber plantation at Nami (in Kedah) and stayed for few hours at his lovely house built in between the rubber trees.... mmm.......a beautiful 'hut' just for weekend's drop-by and shelter.... Here I had a nice experience at the freshwater fish ponds manage by both BILs. Lots of different species of fish in cages and we add in few buckets of catfish for us, just nice to harvest later somewhere on 17th December for an occasion....

After Friday prayer, we had lunch and proceeded down to SIK, to have a visit at this fish pond belongs to a group of KOPERASI where we have our supply of baby fishes from.... at Tasik Beris

Then we moved on to Tasikberisgrape vineyard........ oh what a breath taking view (after reading MyBotang Crafty Corner's post with my jaw dropped then) ..... and never believed that here we have such a huge yard too...we spent a couple of hours here...... and bought home some grapes, very sweet, juicy and succulent all....!

I was so contented with the whole trip... and went home tired but very happy and can't wait to have Nia came home the next morning.....

I fell in love with this caddy for quite sometimes, and today I made one for my little sewing corner......and the best thing is, it is HEXAGON......!

Indeed it is very handy and could organized sewing items neatly and save the cluttering around the sewing table. I love to make few more for 'others' soon.

For those who have the feeling of doing hand-stitching than this is for you and please visit here.

My many thanks to Penny for this beautiful creation of her!

THE BLUE HAPPY HOUSE # 7

Rushing these for a baby boy due by end of September.

My first time quilting the 'spiral' and blame me for the unruly formations since I did not draft first nor do I have the template for it.

Well maybe my next attempt will be much neater and have some smooth curves..... hopefully :)

Organizing your stash

I have promissed on this to few but I am sharing with all......... though, it might not be the best way of keeping fabrics nicely fold and snugly fits your shelves..... but this is how I organize my fabrics after each has been pre-washed or rather a few spin and dried up.

I used a recycle plastic file as a template. But first remove the spiral binder and the plate. Cut it according to your needs and measurements. Mine are 8 inches and 5 inches. Round the edges so it would not catch your precious fabby.

Fold fabric by placing the selvage edges together and put the plastic board on top and start rolling till the end. Just smooth fabric evenly so to save on ironing...Mine are all kept folded inside-out since my sewing area are lighted up naturally from the top ventilator and a bit hot and dry there ...... :D

Let your fabric loose down from your cutting table on the floor... the fabby gives a weight to itself and roll up easily and neatly.

Pull out the plastic board and fold the bundle into two or more and there you have..... a nicely folded stash and stack them up proudly on your shelves...... Fold back the two sized boards and keep them in between your files or cutting ruler organizer for the next folds......

Have a good try and a nice day crafting... everyone!
