Wrapped up of 2011

These are the final sewing for this year I guess... cosmetic bags, black and white theme again.

The studio is still chaotic and abundance of works have yet to get done...... Having flu and the migraine attacked without warning had made me a little weary and in an intensely fatigued and frailled.....!

Alhamdulillah, today I am up and spirited again to face a new beginning for the year 2012

To all of my dear friends and readers,
Wherever you may be,

I wish you all a Happy
and Creative 2012

Ani's cosmetic bag

Divert myself from unpacking and arranging of the mess in the studio I made this little cosmetic bag for Puan Noraini as she requested something like mine .

Made two more while I was at it, but just a little progress in a day although the bag is quite fast to make... :)

Thread catcher that catches

Not much sewing was done for the past two weeks. Loading and downloading the sewing equipments and fabrics to the little studio had drained us too much, hubby and me. So things were done at a very slow pace. Now, arranging and put things to places accordingly.... Few more days and hopefully everything should be ready.....

Yet, today, I did this for my new studio...... a thread catcher. It measures 3" x 3" x 2.5" and what more, I love the felt colors...... It vibrates the whole studio even though it is tiny... :D

Gratitude....... Alhamdulillah

Finally it arrived! I would like to share my happiness here..... look what I have received about an hour ago. An industrial sewing machine just perfect for my quilting....... quilting only.

My many thanks to the Majlis Pembangunan Wanita dan Keluarga, the President Puan Hajah Sharifah Maznah and Puan Hajah Siti Rohani Othman (Aspek Wanita) who had granted me with this beauty. Maybe due to my consistency of attending and conducting craft classes with the organization.... Thanks again.

Yes, I have to befriend my new Juki girl and get to know her better.
Welcome to the family, Jue

WIP - ScrapiePink

Recently I received some fabrics from Sue, MyBotang Crafty Corner. I requested some shades of pink scrapes. She managed to accumulate 4 small bags for me. Thanks, Sue.

I have sorted out for the same prints and the heavy cotton pieces were put aside for another little projects later.

So, this is my on going and sewing in progress.

Happiness all over.........

Lately I was not very happy with all these.........................

Have no space to lay my ongoing projects ....... accompanied by big box on fave long bench,

Have no place to cut my fabrics......... and limited space to move around my sewing area,

Have to squeeze myself to go to the kitchen,

Boxes all over the places...... spilt over the living room,

Have to beware of boxes, glass panes and cylindrical logs in front of our fave couch......,

But, I am very HAPPY with my new sewing chair...... simply because, it is RED
and I am still doing my sewing and quilting all over!!!!!!! :D

Up on the shelf, too!

Alhamdulillah..... the quilt top and the binder are ready and on the waiting list to get quilted.

I knew that Darr is impatiently waiting to lay this on her bed.
This is her only second piece after this.... of the same fave color. Poor girl! Having a quilter as a mother, she should has piles of quilts in store....right?????

WIP.... DARR's

We spend few days at BK3 with the children and we had great times there. Although I did not cooked any rendang or ketupat for the big day, everything was well organized and bought, ready for the days......

During my stay I found the above...... and I could recalled that.......
Just after Darr's SPM exams was over seven years ago, I managed to persuade her to pickup sewing some simple hexagon flowers, for a single size quilt. I found this half way done, neatly packed inside a box with all sewing items and fabrics necessary........hiding under her bed.
She was unable to complete it until today... :)

After the Eid was over I took home this to Alor Setar and I am working on this top now.

HappyGirls - completed

Syukur, this "HappyGirls" was quilted, washed, folded and stored away on time. To make it possible for storing, from the washer I lined it outdoor to dry up and aired for half an hour or so to fluffed it up.

This quilt measures 70" x 58" and completed within 3 days. Quite a simple, easy piecing and quilting.

Will keep it until I found a suitable someone to have it.

What is on my machine

For the past few days the networking was down.... took the opportunity to put my hands on this.

Have to really work hard on this piece till completion before we, hubby and me, leave Alor Setar to celebrate the Eidul Adha at BK3.

Wonder if the shops open for business.... off for a little shopping then.

Children....are you ready to tag along..... I really need some help......................!!

Mats and Mates

Two sets of table mat and coasters....from the extra blocks of single-quilt-to-be.

The quilting are not perfect, but I am learning and perfecting..... :D

The first project ever after almost 10 years of quilting I applied the machine stitch for binding....... it is fast no doubt than hand-binding but I am still not a big fan of machine binding!

Yet another award

Zila gave me this award....... what an honour.
Thanks, Zila dear!
