DENIM PATCH BAGS

The fasting month has always been busy with all sorts of activities from early morn till late night. Added to it my eldest (Nia) came home to celebrate this early fasting seasons with us. We had lots and lots of things to chat and lots of things to giggle about! But in between that, I never stopped doing some sewing.

(Remember my own denim patch bag! It has been snatched by a friend who admired it so much... Well, guess have to make another similar one or maybe using heavy cotton this time....)

Made these two last weekends, but the other one was gone too....YOU KNOW WHO HAD DONE IT!

Who can spot the difference here.... yes, right! One was stippled and the other was pebbled by machine.

As requested by Effa, here is the pic of the lining with pockets attached.

Since small, I always wanted anything in red or black colour. My late mum said that it is a dull colour for a young girl and it will make me look old..... but I still love those two colour till now.
Lately I asked for black hexagon exchange from friends around here..... BLACK is BEAUTIFUL!

And here is one example
So................... feast your eyes............................. I'll continue tonight..... so sleepy!

HEXAGON GAME # 1 - FIDA

Hello all Hexy Game Members!!!!!

Yesterday Balkhis and I had a mutual agreement and a brief conversation between us regarding the many commitments that she has at the moment... which I am sure all member has read about it.

This is the conclusions.... Balkhis handed over the other portion/lot to me and I shall fulfill the commitments.... yeah! I have two lots to muddle into but I have two sets of Hexygon quilts in the end... is not that sounds wonderful...... yes!

So the above blues are for FIDA coming from me, which I made today. Balkhis will post this with hers later.

Mmmmm.... I have to choose a colour for my other lot. I think I would prefer BLACK since I love red and black. Oh oh... black does not means all black! Anything with black in each hexagon pieces will be fine even if it is just a little black dot. Much preferable if it is a black-base fabrics.....
The motif (centre) is still yellow/orange....

Is it sound demanding? Well, have your say......... (Naiz has lots of black-base fabrics.... love them all)

DENIM PATCH BAG

All this while I have been sewing bags for friends or for my little shop. I need something for myself and be proud to carry one...... Not too much to ask right? Now I own this.

The materials were from some collections of my childrens' old denim jeans, overalls, skirts, tops........ Cut, patched, quilted and here it is!

I applied the pebble-quilt for the whole bag with inner pockets on lining and a wrapped button.

FELT GRAB

Received these rainbows few days back... and the colours are lovely. But most importantly is, its rare price that you have to grab right now on sales at Cik Kema's MsCraft Shoppe. Hurry now with a good price for a good size of rainbow felt!

This is going to be one of my projects during the long term school holidays at the end of the year....

HEXAGON TEA COSY

I was having such a horrible but quiet time when the inter net line was down for two days..... well, all must have had the same experiences and life was so empty then ...... :(

But it was quite paid off with my findings of this.... totally forgotten about making an entry on that. Completed after the yellow set but was abandoned by me..... poor thing..... finally found it in between my stash.

All handpatched and handquilted.

FAVOURITE - BLUE QUILT

Look at these two identical (almost) of blue and cream. One of my favourite quilt (right) that I cherish always.

The original design (left) was derived from the Australian Patchwork & Quilting (my most fav. magz.) Vol 13, No 3&4, May&June 2005 and designed by Therese Hylton.

Since this is a sampler/wallhanging quilt I used nylon tread for quilting. Appliqued and quilted by machine. The most favourite blocks are the pair of birdie.... and the other two.

FIDA'S BLUE FLOWERS

Well, these are all my BLUE FLOWERS for FIDA and one of the pincushion will be hers.

Completed yesterday but our Puan Balkhis would like to see them personally and decided to come over then finally she could not make it. So have posted this today for Fida.

Note that I did not sew the fabric through paper template for easier removal of paper later on. I used white thread throughout but it is still not very visible on the right side since I just pinched a small portion of fabric through and pull out slightly taut... not too much or will warp or distort.

DECOUPAGE

Apart from sewing, lately I plunged myself into this decoupage world.

Frankly I had a great time doing these, firstly because I want to get the feel of doing something new and secondly I was appointed to explore more on this and generate some fund for the Institution.

Though at first had no intention of making an entry of these..... but I think some CREDITS should be given to AFFEEN DECOUPAGE for giving full support and good tutorials. Thanks Affeen, without your help I think I could not produced anything like these.

Just wondering if should I venture more into this or..................

NO
, I think I am still madly in LOVE with SEWING and will do lots and lots of QUILTING!!!!!!

GONE IN SPLIT SECOND

Since I made these two pair, our dear Balkhis had not got the time to visit my sewing room. She was all glancing, browsing and eying through the net and had something set in her mind.

Today Balkhis came to my sewing room and snatched my other pair.

( She did not know that I made this for her, and I did not dare to tell her.... let her see and find out herself. She could sensed, I guess, for she went straight to the right spot and found it hanging with the rest of my other tiny things, and claimed it was hers .... funny right!)

It was okay 'cos she looked so radiantly happy today.... wonder why! We just wait and see.......

MISSING IN ACTION

Totally exhausted for the past one week for some yearly events which involved our WI (Women Institution) , other NGOs and the governments sectors which took place at the Stadium Darul Aman from July 31st. - August 1st 2009.

Made some crafts projects just to give colours to our other products and to generate some fund for our Institution. My little contributions were just so minute compared to others. But so proud that at least I took part in this most soughtful event which involved His Royal Highness and the Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah -

'Sultanah Bahiyah Foundation is a charitable organisation which takes its name after its founder and first royal patron, Almarhumah Tuanku Bahiyah Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Incorporated as a foundation on 20th August 1996, the Yayasan is managed by a Board of Trustees and the present Chairman is YTM Dato' Seri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti KDYMM Tuanku Sultan Haji Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.'

Some pics during the events.

Look who came to visit our humble booth. Our 'IRON LADY' Dato' Maznah Hamid. She stayed about half an hour and have a nice chat full of motivated speech and spirited advices to us. She bought most of my items mostly the patchworks products.

Had been busy for few days..... missed my sewing room and mostly I missed my friends here...............
